Fun Firsts

Over the past few weeks we have had a few cool first time events from Miss Edith. Yesterday she started really rolling around. A few times she would roll from her back to her tummy and immediately roll back over. A couple of times she would roll away from something!

This morning Daddy and I awoke to the "dulcet" tones of her Fisher-Price Rainforest Aquarium which she has learned to turn off and on at will. It was great, we were able to sleep an extra 45 minutes!

Additionally, over the last week or so she has discovered the fun to be had in her Jump-a-Roo. She will bounce for a half hour at a time. She has found all of the really fun noise-maker pieces already much to our "pleasure".

All in all this month 5 has been very eventful for young Edith and her development!

Celiac Disease

Well, it looks like Miss Edith may have celiac disease just like her mama. Without going into too much BM detail, she has had a very difficult two days, now has a HORRID rash, and screams everytime I put her on the changing table. The doctor says based on stool tests it looks like a food related intestinal issue...wow sounds like celiac. So, for now, she is back to bottles of formula and NO veggies or cereal. He's hoping that her intersines will work themselves out and then we will try out solids again, this time with gluten-free oats!

My First Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was lovely. Brett had to do some work stuff early in the morning so I had Edie all morning. I got up and cleaned bottles and got stuff ready for the upcoming work week. After a bit I heard Edie talking to herself, or her fake fish...don't really know. Anyway I went into her room for the BEST. MOTHER'S DAY PRESENT.EVER!!!!

Edie's big old toothless grin.

She just busts into the biggest smile whenever we come and rescue her from baby jail. I changed her, gave her a bottle, and we played.
By the time she was ready for her morning nap Brett had arrived home. He made me breakfast and took care of Edie for the rest of the day. I got to read and lounge around in bed. It was heavenly!

That afternoon we went over to my parent's house and met my sister and brother in law. We made dinner for my mom and all hung out together. It was nice.

I have to say this was a perfect first Mother's Day...it helped that Brett let me do whatever I wanted!
